This semester I am interning at The Undergraduate Office of Admissions at Binghamton University.  I focus on recruiting admitted students to attend Binghamton in the future. I write emails as well as call admitted students and their parents to answer any questions they might have.  I put together plans in which we could get the highest quality students to attend Binghamton University.  1.     Improve upon my interpersonal and communication skills with my coworkers and potential students (and parents) of Binghamton University

2.     Learn how to speak and carry myself in a more professional manner

3.     Get more experience in event planning for the New Jersey Guidance Counselor Tour, Lost Dog Dinner, etc.

4.     Learn how to use the CRM database at Binghamton University Office of Undergraduate Admissions, “Slate”

5.     Learn more about Binghamton University’s marketing and social media and how to effectively use them to recruit students

6.     Learn about the hierarchal structure and seniority in the workplace

7.     See if I prefer a fast paced versus a slow paced work environment (there are elements of each at my practicum site)

8.     Experience positive and professional coworker camaraderie/company culture

9.     Become an overall better writer by writing letters and emails to potential students

10.  Learn about different effective recruitment strategies to get students from all over the United States to attend Binghamton University  

11.  Improve upon my organizational skills (keeping my office cubicle neat and paperwork properly filed)

Learn how to prioritize certain work tasks over others when I first get in to the office and improve upon my time management skills
